Trained as a scientist, Annie Mauffrey has had a rich and varied professional career before becoming a ceramist about 20 years ago. At the Atelier Terre en Tête, located at 8 rue de Buzenval in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, she creates useful and decorative objects in stoneware or porcelain. She also offers classes there, sharing her passion and expertise with her students. Her eclectic background and fascination with the material have allowed her to develop her personal style. Her research relies on various techniques, such as the creation of personal glazes which, through their texture and color, create a tangible link between the object and its user. For some pieces, she uses the raku firing technique, which shapes the forms and adds a random touch through the mark of fire, making each creation unique and captivating.
