The story of Ava
My work offers made-to-measure and ready-to-wear clothing on demand, most often made from unsold or second-hand fabrics. I apply luxurious techniques such as trimmings or haute couture embroidery to fabrics that I enhance to create garments that celebrate femininity while respecting the environment. I also work for the artistic world during events such as performances, theater plays, or music videos, always with the same goal of honoring the body and nature.
I trained in applied arts schools in Paris, then I decided to travel around Europe to collect traditional textile know-how passed down by older women I met. I am convinced that the rarity and quality of ancient techniques can add value to a simple piece of fabric, and even more to unsold fabrics or scraps.
This is why my work reflects a respect for traditional techniques, but also a constant desire for renewal and research on how to create and combine techniques for a more free and slower fashion. I truly believe that it is possible and that it is the future.
