The story of Kiri
Kiri, a visual artist of Jamaican origin, was born in England and now lives in Paris, a city that deeply nourishes her creative process. Between breathtaking architecture, terrace culture, cultural diversity, and vibrant energy, Paris offers her a fertile ground to develop a bold, engaged, and decidedly feminine body of work.
In her work, Kiri celebrates strength, struggle, and beauty in all its forms. She explores, reinvents, and stylizes the female nude through abstract, often colorful and powerful compositions. Her practice is collective in spirit: she frequently works on multiple canvases simultaneously, creating a visual dialogue between the artworks through patterns, palettes, and subtle details. Color theory and chromatic psychology are at the heart of her universe, notably the concept of “dopamine dressing,” which she actively explores.
Today, Kiri is enthusiastically developing her new project: Brave and Bougie, a shop for hand-painted candles. Each piece is hand-decorated with 100% wax mediums, non-toxic, vegan, and designed for safe burning. True to her style, Brave and Bougie celebrates color, uniqueness, and free expression, in a spirit that is both bold and refined.
The Brave and Bougie candles are currently for sale at La Petite Boutique de Montreuil – a place of creation and passion. A shared workshop and a vibrant space to discover unique objects, noble materials, and inspiring stories. This place was envisioned as a crossroads of creativity, know-how, and encounters.
