Throwing Class, 2h30 Thursday Evening Led by Gaëlle Lennon
€60.00
Throwing is a game of strength between the clay and your hands, a choreography of movements that requires concentration and work. During the first sessions, we intervene a lot to grasp all the techniques and movements of throwing. The first classes will be a condensed version of the work to deepen throughout the year.
The throwing class takes place on electric wheels, with each participant working on their own wheel. At the beginning, the shapes made are pots, cups, and bowls, and as the weight of the clay increases and your dexterity improves, we can then move on to larger pieces like vases, bottles, and salad bowls. We can also decrease the weight of clay to make coffee cups, sauce bowls, and vary the complexity of the shapes to deepen the throwing techniques.
We will also see during the classes how to make handles, spouts, and other decorations.
We will also discuss ceramic materials, different clays, and firing. A glazing class for your own pieces will also be included, with a small selection of glaze colors.
To reserve a spot, each participant is required to transfer half of the amount. The classes take place outside school holidays and are for a maximum of 4 people.
