Absolute in alcohol and Olessence Mimosa
€14.20
Type: Absolute in alcohol and Olessence
Binomial name: Acacia dealbata
Family: Fabaceae
Producing organ: flowers
Origin: Morocco and India
Production: Conventional
The mimosa is the embodiment of sweetness.
It's a light breeze on a summer evening.
It's even the entire summer evening, lying on a deck chair, on a beach, in a garden, or elsewhere... cradled by soft music... and with a light warm breeze, nonetheless.
It's round, it's sweet and very sunny, silky and velvety, powdery, between honey, almond and beeswax. With often a certain freshness, a green cucumber note, due to the presence of leaves in the extraction.
We offer you two mimosas. Two cold extractions (as it should be to best respect the scent of the flower): an absolute and an Olessence extract.
The absolute, to start with, from Oshadhi. Few leaves, mainly flowers and you can feel it: we are in sweetness and suavness, but with something very luminous and very airy, a lightness, and something aquatic more than green. A very elegant absolute and of great finesse.
On the composition side, as always with absolutes, there are many particularly heavy molecules that are not found in essential oils, which have particularly powerful and deep effects in aromatherapy.
Note: our absolute is diluted in 34% organic alcohol. The pure absolute has a resinous and solid consistency, the one we offer is just fluid enough to be used with the provided micro-pipette.
The Olessence extract, from Hermitage, is quite different. The mimosa is here extracted using nerolidol, a natural molecule present among others in niaouli... or neroli (hence the name).
The result is an even closer mimosa scent to the flower, even sweeter than the absolute but also more powdery. For this one, both flowers and leaves have been extracted, and the green and fresh notes blend into a deep anise note. It's not sweet... it's downright fluffy.
