Glass, whether standard, anti-reflective, or museum quality, acts as a barrier against external aggressions such as dust, splashes, or fingerprints. It also helps preserve color quality and prevents yellowing or degradation of the image due to time and light.

The matting, for its part, has a dual function. It protects the work by creating a distance between it and the glass, thus avoiding any direct contact that could damage it, while also adding an aesthetic dimension. It subtly frames the image.
