An intuitive approach to ceramics Take a moment to slow down, breathe, and explore clay differently. In a warm and light-filled workshop, I invite you to discover ceramic modeling, a gentle, accessible, and deeply intuitive practice. Modeling is one of the oldest shaping techniques, but also one of the freest. Here, there is no wheel, no complex mechanisms. Just your hands, a bit of clay, and the desire to create. No experience or artistic talent is needed: this course is designed for anyone who wishes to take their first step into the world of ceramics, at their own pace, in a caring and inspiring environment. Whether you come alone or accompanied, with a specific idea or just a simple desire to touch the material, you will find in this workshop a space for listening, creating, and slowing down. For 2h30, I will accompany you in discovering ceramic modeling, in an intimate and bright workshop in Ménilmontant. We will start with a brief introduction to the different techniques: pinching, to shape volumes by carving into the clay; coils, to build round forms; slabs, to play with lines, angles, and cuts. Then, it’s time for free creation. You can make one or two unique pieces, depending on your desires: a coffee cup, a small bowl, an organic catch-all, or a more sculptural form… The goal is not to create “a beautiful piece,” but to reconnect with your hands and your creativity. I guide you, advise you, and also allow you the necessary silence for concentration.
