Originating from Korea, the Mishima technique involves embedding color into the clay to create patterns of great finesse.
A delicate and meticulous workshop, ideal for discovering an ancestral know-how in ceramic decoration.
Each participant receives an unglazed clay cup, leather-like in consistency, approximately 8.5 cm high and 7.5 cm in diameter. First, one carves their pattern, then fills the grooves with colored slips. Finally, comes the finishing stage, where the excess is removed to reveal the decor, clear and precise. The technique is especially suited for simple designs with fine lines: one can bring their own pattern or choose from those offered by the workshop.
After drying, the cup goes through two firings, the bisque and then the glaze firing, before being ready for pickup in about four weeks.
49 € for a 2-hour session, including firing and glazing.
